About Us
Carousels and Carvings is the only manufacturer of carousels to offer all necessary in-house services to build and restore complete carousels. We restore antique carousels by faithfully reproducing original parts that maintain the integrity of the original state of the carousel, turning them into the grand machines that they once were. The knowledge gained from these restorations is applied to the engineering of new carousels, allowing us to design and manufacture contemporary figures, facades, and mechanics that befits this day and age.
Our founder, 2024 NEA National Heritage Fellow Todd W Goings, brings over 30 years of experience in the industry to lead our team of talented carvers, woodworkers, artists, metal workers, patternmakers, and CAD draftsmen in a great number of fabrication and restoration projects. Our dedicated staff works to continue our commitment to preserve the remaining 150 American antique carousels for the next generation, successfully restoring renowned antique carousels and menagerie for public parks and private collectors alike.
Founded in 1997, Carousels and Carvings found its humble beginnings at Marion-Waldo Rd with only a handful of staff. Since then, we have moved to our current 30,000 square foot warehouse at Likens Road. Previously a train depot from WW2, it has since transformed into a facility deeply inspired by the manufacturers of the golden age of carousels.
We are also a proud contributor of the National Carousel Association, NAARSO member, and ASTM F24 Committee producer.
